Accounting Assistant
Baystate Interpreters, Inc. is a Language Service Provider located in Gardner, MA, providing high-quality translation and interpretation services in more than 350 languages. We are currently seeking a full-time, in-office Accounting Assistant to support the Accounting Department and help maintain accurate and efficient financial operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the Accounting Department with daily, monthly, and annual accounting procedures.
- Maintain accurate and complete financial and accounting records.
- Process bi-weekly payments for 1099 independent contractor vendors.
- Communicate with customers regarding account status, charges, payments, and discrepancies.
- Process payments and deposits.
- Prepare and process invoices and customer statements.
- Assist with accounts receivable and collections.
- Research and resolve billing and payment discrepancies.
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate financial information.
- Provide general administrative support to the Accounting Department as needed.
Requirements
Qualifications & SkillsQuickBooks experience required or strongly preferred. Willing to train.
Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and applicable financial regulations.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent time management, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Strong mathematical and research skills.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with bookkeeping or accounting software.
Highly organized and detail-oriented.
Ability to analyze financial and other business data accurately and efficiently.
Ability to work independently while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced office environment.
