Mission Analysis Engineer (Senior) - Millennium Space Systems

Overview Mission Analysis Engineer (Senior) – a critical role on the Mission Analysis Engineering Team at Millennium Space Systems, a Boeing Defense, Space and Security (BDS) company. The engineer serves as the Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) for all modeling, simulation, and analysis of a program, study, or proposal, ensuring high‑quality, on‑time delivery of mission solutions that meet customer needs. Position Responsibilities Build and maintain simulations for large satellite constellations to assess effectiveness against mission requirements. Own the Electro‑Optical/Infrared (EO/IR) image processing algorithm chain, from photon to warfighter. Create models for spacecraft payloads used in system trades and performance predictions. Develop novel algorithms, models, and data‑processing schemes for EO/IR sensing and tracking systems. Lead Concepts of Operation (CONOPS)/Design Reference Mission (DRM) development, modeling, and simulation. Collaborate with software and firmware teams to develop platforms for simulation deployment (e.g., software/hardware‑in‑the‑loop). Manage program‑level activities to ensure timely completion of high‑quality work products. Basic Qualifications (Required) Bachelor’s degree and at least 9 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience. 9+ years of experience in aerospace systems design, analysis, and/or operation. Experience with modeling and simulation of complex satellite systems using tools such as MATLAB/Simulink, Python, or C++. Experience with EO/IR optical systems and image‑processing algorithms. Experience in orbital mechanics and kinematic state estimation. Ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret security clearance (interim and final) post‑start; U.S. citizenship required. Preferred Qualifications (Desired) 14+ years of experience in satellite design and/or operation. Experience with government‑furnished image models such as ASSET, PRA Toolkit, or AFSIM. Proficiency in hardware‑development languages (VHDL, Verilog, Vitis Model Composer). Experience with satellite space‑to‑space communication networks. Technical leadership experience, including requirements V&V, delegation, and management of technical tasks; experience as a Responsible Engineering Authority (REA) and cost‑account management (CAM). Active TS/SCI clearance. Security Clearance & Export Control The position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance; a Top Secret (TS) clearance is required after hire.
