Chrisp Company, a leader in the highway improvement construction industry for over 40 years, is seeking a Diesel Mechanic to join our shop in Stockton, California.
Hours:
Monday - Friday
10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Occasional overtime as necessary
Responsibilities:
- Perform inspections and diagnose issues on trucks, trailers, and related equipment.
- Diagnose and repair issues in engine, brake, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic system.
- Conduct 90-day DOT inspections and perform routine fluid maintenance services.
- Operate the facility service truck to perform on-site repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Drive facility service truck for field repairs and maintenance as needed.
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Consent to a motor vehicle record (MVR) check and drug test as part of the pre-employment screening process.
- Maintain a driving record that meets the standards of our insurance provider.
- Routinely moves equipment weighing 50 pounds.
- Basic computer skills to be able to use fleet management software.
- Experience working on Cummins engines.
- HD/IM Certified.
- Willing to work overtime when needed.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid drivers license.
- Detailed oriented with a positive attitude and aptitude
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Takes responsibility and ensures the job is completed
- Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems and components
- Ability to safely operate vehicles and equipment to test and trouble-shoot for proper operation before and after maintenance.
