Registered Nurse (RN)This role primarily involves supporting multiple units, including GSH 1 Daily and River North and South, along with Float Pool Teams. The position requires adaptability and resourcefulness as travel between units may be necessary.Unit Information:MSICU: 40 bedsCVICU: 10 beds (no specific CVICU experience required)PCU: 40 beds2R PCU Obs: 18 beds, can expand to 27 for overflowCCU: 30 bedsMedical: 89 bedsSurgical: 55 bedsFlex Unit: 9 beds (combined PCU and MS patients)Inpatient Rehab: 47 bedsER Holding Unit: for patients waiting on a bedCOVID Overflow: as neededExperience Requirements:ICU: Minimum of 2 years of ICU experiencePCU/PCU ER Holds: Minimum of 2 years of PCU experienceMedical-Surgical: Minimum of 2 years in an acute care settingPatient Types and Common Diagnoses:ICU: Respiratory failure, GI bleeds, DKA, sepsis, complicated post-operative patients, CVAs, flap surgeries, post-arrest patients, ETOH, IVDAHigher Level Therapies: Rotoprone, manual prone, hypothermia protocol, CRRT, TPA (flap surgeries not accepted)PCU: Respiratory compromise, sepsis, renal failure, bleeding disorders, general medical/surgical patients, CHF, COPD, pneumonia, general and ortho casesMedical-Surgical: Oncology, psych, general medical/surgical including post-op, COPD, CHF, sepsis, DVT, AKI, dialysis, COVIDRehab: Neuro cases: stroke, spinal cord injury, TBI, multi-trauma, post-COVID, post-ICUPatients on vents/traches, general Med-Surg level acuityED Holding: Fast-paced unit with a mix of diagnoses; ratios include 1:2 for ICU patients, 1:4 for PCU, and 1:5 for MSPatient Ratios:ICU: 1:2 based on acuityPCU and CCU: 1:4 depending on acuity or patient dischargesMedical and Surgical: 1:5Rehab: 1:8 team model (RN, LPN, Tech)Licenses and Certifications Required:ICU: ACLS, BLS, NIHSSPCU: ACLS, BLS, NIHSSMedical-Surgical: BLS, NIHSSRequired Skills:ICU: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, vent management, invasive line management, ostomy care, general drains, tracheostomy carePCU: Cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, lumbar drains, tracheostomy, IV medication titration
