Travel RN - Operating Room

American Traveler is hiring an experienced Operating Room RN with urology, gynecology/oncology, and robotic surgery experience for a transplant-focused surgical team.

Job Details

• Operating Room setting specializing in GYN/GU/Transplant procedures,
• Performs kidney transplant, nephrectomy, hysterectomy, HOLEP, cystectomy, ureteroscopy, and laparoscopic gynecologic procedures,
• Utilizes Da Vinci Xi robotic surgical system for urologic and gynecologic robotic surgery,
• 1:1 patient ratio,
• Day/evening 12-hour shifts, 0940-2210, with Monday-Friday variation,
• Weekend call responsibility required,
• Two-week orientation period with 8-hour shifts (0640-1510) for 5 days,
• Floating required as needed,
• Epic charting system required,

Job Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license required (pending WI license accepted with submission),
• BLS certification required (AHA only),
• Minimum 2 years of acute care experience within the last 3 years in relevant specialty,
• Experience required in Urology, Gynecology/Oncology, kidney transplant, pancreas transplant, and robotic surgery,
• Experience with abdominal/vaginal hysterectomy, anterior/posterior repair, and laparoscopic-assisted gynecological procedures required,
• Experience with cystectomy, cystoscopy, nephrectomy, prostatectomy, and TURP required,
• Must pass telemetry exam with strict criteria prior to start, including 100% identification of lethal rhythms and 80% or higher overall passing score,
• Teaching hospital and Trauma Level I/II experience preferred,
• Previous charge experience preferred,

• Perform surgical procurements and support transplant surgical teams,
• Responsible for specimen handling/labeling, infection control, and Universal Protocol (time-out) procedures,
• Trained in emergency management, code response, fire safety, latex allergy, and malignant hyperthermia protocols,
• Must reside within 50 miles of the facility; local candidates not accepted,
