Work Environment\n

This position offers full-time remote work flexibility while utilizing our outpatient office as needed for client sessions. Our work schedule primarily spans Monday to Friday from 9 am to 5 pm, with occasional evenings or weekends required to address client appointments. This structure supports our counselors in maintaining a healthy work-life balance while ensuring availability for clients in need.

Key Responsibilities\n

• Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ mental health status and establish comprehensive treatment plans collaboratively with clients.

• Facilitate crisis intervention strategies, including the development of pre-crisis and crisis plans, risk assessments, and positive behavior support plans to address behavioral challenges.

• Ensure timely and accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment protocols, and progress notes in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.

• Utilize evidence-based screening tools to assess emotional and psychological wellbeing as directed by our clinical team.

• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to implement effective treatment plans and behavioral support for patients.

• Participate in licensing and accreditation activities to uphold and enhance service quality standards.

• Act as a liaison for patients and their families with relevant services, community partners, and state agencies to foster comprehensive support systems.

• Engage in continuous professional development through attending workshops, conferences, and participating in state meetings relevant to geriatric mental health.

• Promote and embody the mission and values of Murray Counseling Services within the community through outreach and partnership development.

• Perform other tasks as assigned by the Clinic Director to support overall clinic operations.

As a Mental Health Counselor specializing in geriatric care, you will primarily work with elderly clients facing complex mental health issues including depression, anxiety, grief, and adjustment challenges associated with aging.
