Registered Nurse - CVOR

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provides specialized cardiovascular surgical nursing care within a busy surgical department. Assists in the preparation, monitoring, and supporting of patients undergoing cardiac procedures, ensuring safety and optimal outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Administer preoperative and postoperative assessments for CVOR patients.
• Prepare and maintain the sterile field during surgeries, including assisting with instrumentation and equipment.
• Monitor vital signs and patient status throughout surgical procedures, responding to any changes promptly.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other team members to ensure smooth operative processes.
• Document all clinical interventions and patient responses accurately in compliance with protocols.
• Ensure adherence to safety standards and infection control procedures during all phases of patient care.

Qualifications:

• Hold an active Registered Nurse license with a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience.
• Demonstrate proficiency in cardiovascular and surgical nursing procedures.
• Complete current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Possess strong technical skills in managing CVOR equipment and monitoring devices.
• Exhibit excellent communication and teamwork abilities to coordinate within a high-pressure environment.
