Amazon Music Search Science team is seeking an experienced Applied Scientist to work on machine learning problems for music classification, recommender systems, dialogue systems, NLP, and music information retrieval. You will conduct applied research, develop and deploy algorithms at scale, evaluate results through experiments, and publish your findings. Key Responsibilities Use machine learning, deep learning, LLMs, and Agentic AI techniques to create scalable solutions for business problems. Analyze and extract relevant information from large amounts of Amazon’s data to automate and optimize key processes. Design, develop, and evaluate AI models for predictive learning. Work closely with software engineering teams to drive model implementations and new feature creations. Establish scalable, efficient, automated processes for large‑scale data analyses, model development, validation, and implementation. Research and implement novel machine learning and statistical approaches. About the Team Everyone on our team has a meaningful impact on product features, new directions in music streaming, and customer engagement. We build systems that are distributed on a large scale across our music apps, web player, and voice‑forward audio engagement on mobile and Amazon Echo devices, powered by Alexa. Basic Qualifications 3+ years of experience building models for business applications. PhD or Master’s degree and 4+ years of experience in CS, CE, ML or related fields. Experience programming in Java, C++, Python or a related language. Experience building machine learning models or developing algorithms for business applications. Experience in algorithms and data structures, parsing, numerical optimization, data mining, parallel and distributed computing, or high‑performance computing. Preferred Qualifications Experience using Unix/Linux. Experience in professional software development. Experience with patents or publications at top‑tier peer‑reviewed conferences or journals. Benefits and Compensation Base salary range for this position: 171,600.00 – 222,200.00 USD annually. Your Amazon package will include sign‑on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
