Strategic Partnerships and Academic Program Development Coordinator Working Title Strategic Partnerships and Academic Program Development Coordinator Division Academic Affairs Department/Unit Academic Affairs Section Academic Affairs (section) The Division of Academic Affairs provides leadership in developing and maintaining quality academic programs and support services that contribute to the achievement of the university's mission. The division strives to be recognized as a student-centered university with emphasis on excellence in teaching, learning, and scholarly activities; commitment to total student development; and outstanding service and engagement with local, regional, national and global communities. Description of Work The Strategic Partnerships and Academic Program Development (SPAAD) Consultant will provide services to academic deans, department heads, and faculty through the KE White Graduate & Continuing Education Center and the Office of Sponsored Programs. The consultant will enhance strategic external partnerships, facilitate the growth of academic programs related to cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, information technology, entrepreneurship, and data science, and strengthen targeted development efforts for applied research. This position supports ECSU's Strategic Goal 2: Innovative Academic Programs and Growth and Goal 4: Strategic Partnerships and Advancement. It is expected the credentials of the consultant to align with the expertise needed for program development. This is an eleven-month temporary contract through the support of the Office of Academic Affairs. It is anticipated that the consultant will dedicate at least 40 hours per week. This position is hybrid with remote and with periodic on-campus visits as needed. Competencies, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Academic programs & external partnerships development. Provide academic program development through degrees, certificates, and online education for in-demand disciplines (e.g., AI, Cybersecurity, Business, Entrepreneurship), and training and education for local/regional residents for professional skill development to become more prepared for the workforce. Assist Academic Deans/Department Heads/Faculty with the cultivation of high-impact partnerships that enhance external engagement efforts, which impact student learning, drive enrollment, and create new revenue streams. Provide coaching/mentoring sessions for discipline-specific faculty and students who desire to increase their career skills, micro-credentials, outreach and collaboration with professional organizations, entrepreneurship, and entities that can increase internships and scholarships for students and grants for faculty. Facilitate the establishment and effectiveness of School Advisory Boards that reflect community stakeholders and key industry partners to benefit the academic program(s). Work collaboratively with Sponsored Programs and faculty to identify funding opportunities aligned with the school and institutional priorities. Work with faculty to conduct applied research in specific areas such as AI, Cybersecurity, and other disciplines to attract grants and contracts with the engagement of students and external collaborators. Licenses or Certifications Required Bachelor's degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. At least one industry‑recognized security certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, CISM, CEH) or ability to obtain certification within the first year of employment. Experience or coursework in network security, threat detection, or related areas preferred. One or more years of professional experience in information security or IT support with a security focus. Knowledge of NIST, CIS Controls, or ISO 27001 standards. Experience working in higher education or public‑sector environments.
