Senior Accountant

A well-established and growing specialty finance company is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its close-knit finance team. This is a highly visible role that offers broad exposure across accounting, finance, operations, and executive leadership. Reporting directly to the Controller and CFO, the Senior Accountant will play a key role in supporting financial reporting, month-end close, audit activities, and business operations while helping drive process improvements across the organization. What You’ll Do Support month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting Maintain and analyze key accounting records, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger accounts Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies to ensure financial accuracy Assist with annual audits and various tax-related matters, including corporate, sales, property, and income tax support Create, maintain, and present data‑intensive reports and financial analyses for management Serve as a key finance contact for customer agreements and support external communications related to financial matters Partner closely with the Controller and CFO on financial reporting, operational initiatives, and strategic projects Participate in process improvement initiatives and help strengthen internal controls and reporting capabilities Support ad hoc projects and special analyses as the business continues to grow What We’re Looking For Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance 5+ years of progressive accounting experience Public accounting experience is highly desirable Strong understanding of month‑end close, reconciliations, and financial reporting Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large data sets Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting systems Exposure to lending, leasing, financial services, or asset‑based businesses is a plus Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with employees, customers, and senior leadership Self‑starter who takes ownership and enjoys working independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment Why This Opportunity?
