Seeking a Litigation Attorney with 5+ years of experience to join its General Liability Practice Group. The ideal candidate will have experience defending a broad range of general liability claims, including transportation, construction, product liability, and commercial liability matters in both federal and state courts.

Responsibilities:

• Review and prepare summaries of medical records to support case strategy and client advocacy.

• Draft motions and appear at hearings and court proceedings.

• Prepare clients for depositions and attend depositions as needed.

• Take and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.

• Draft initial, interim, pre-trial, trial, and appellate reports and filings.

• Respond to discovery requests and prepare discovery-related motions.

• Draft motions for summary judgment.

• Regularly attend court appearances and advocate for clients.

• Manage litigation matters efficiently from inception through resolution.

Qualifications:

• 5+ years of relevant litigation experience, preferably in general liability defense.

• Admission to practice law in Illinois.

• Experience with defense of transportation, construction, product liability, and/or commercial liability claims.

• Strong legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills.

• Demonstrated experience drafting and responding to discovery-related motions.

• Experience taking and defending depositions of fact and expert witnesses.

• Experience drafting and arguing summary judgment motions.

• Strong courtroom and litigation skills.

• Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines effectively.

• Preferably the candidates have tort or insurance defense experience.
