Human Resources Generalist

Job Summary: The Human Resources Generalist serves as a key member of the HR team and acts as the first point of contact for employees regarding HR-related inquiries and support. This role is responsible for employee relations, investigations, benefits administration, payroll support, and ensuring a positive employee experience while maintaining compliance with company policies and employment laws. The HR Generalist must be able to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams while also managing responsibilities independently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Employee Relations Serve as the first point of contact for employee questions, concerns, and HR-related support. Build positive relationships with employees and management to promote a productive work environment. Conduct employee relations investigations, including gathering facts, interviewing involved parties, documenting findings, and recommending appropriate actions. Support corrective action processes and performance management initiatives. Assist with conflict resolution and provide guidance on company policies and procedures. Benefits Administration Respond to employee inquiries regarding health insurance, retirement plans, leave programs, and other company benefits. Assist employees with benefits enrollment, qualifying life events, and benefits-related documentation. Partner with benefits vendors and brokers to resolve employee concerns. Payroll Support Serve as a resource for employee payroll questions and concerns. Assist with payroll processing activities, including reviewing time records, resolving discrepancies, and ensuring accurate payroll administration. Coordinate with payroll providers and internal departments to address payroll-related issues. HR Operations Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation. Assist with onboarding, orientation, and offboarding activities. Support recruitment efforts, including scheduling interviews and facilitating new hire paperwork. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Participate in HR projects, employee engagement initiatives, training programs, and policy implementation. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. 3+ years of Human Resources experience, preferably in a manufacturing or multi-site environment. Experience conducting employee relations investigations. Knowledge of payroll processes, benefits administration, and employment law. Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS systems. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Strong attention to detail and follow-through. Professional judgment and decision-making skills. Physical Requirements Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods as needed. Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
