RN - Psych Profession: Nursing Specialty: Psychiatric Geriatric, Psychiatric Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours (1830-0700) Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Current nursing license Certifications: BLS certification, CPI Nonviolent Crisis Intervention with Advanced Physical Skills (APS) required Description:The Registered Nurse (RN) manages and coordinates nursing care activities during hospitalization.This includes assessment, diagnosis, planning, and evaluation.The RN directs and is responsible for other personnel involved in client care.The RN maintains professional accountability for all nursing care provided.Demonstrates competency in nursing judgment.Maintains awareness of economic barriers to health care and acts accordingly.Demonstrates knowledge of nursing care needs for various clinical specialties.Will work with clients 18 years of age and older. Essential Functions and Duties:Ability to organize and coordinate nursing care delivery for assigned clients.No performance deficiencies caused by failure to adapt to new techniques.Ability to direct others in health care delivery.Requires regular talking and hearing.Must be able to stand for 4-6 hours.Provides direct client care activities if required, following defined policies and procedures.Requires a concentrated level of attention.Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus. Position Qualifications:Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.B.S.N. preferred or equivalent years of experience.Demonstrates clinical competence.Assumes responsibility for own personal and professional growth. Preferred Skills and Abilities:Ability to operate standard office equipment.Personal computer and printer proficiency including specific software applications. Physical Demands:Requires grasping and reaching with hands/arms.Ability to lift up to 25 pounds when assisting clients.Requires bending, stooping, and walking.Requires good body mechanics to prevent injury.
