STAFF PSYCHIATRIST (MAND)

Job Title Department of Developmental Services - Canyon Springs Community State Facility Position: Staff Psychiatrist (MAND) Classification code: JC-511482 Salary and Compensation $20,160.00 - $29,655.00 per month. New to State candidates will be hired into the minimum salary of the classification or minimum of alternate range when applicable. Position Details Job Type: Permanent, Part Time – 1/2 Time Work Location: Hybrid (Telework and In‑person at Canyon Springs Community State Facility, Cathedral City, CA) Key Responsibilities Provide telepsychiatry services to assigned clients, including diagnosis of conditions and prescribing medications within the scope of medical staff privileges and professional license. Attend and participate in monthly Psychotropic Drug Review meetings. Perform written and telephone psychiatric consultations, including second opinions for Canyon Springs clients at the request of residence physicians and psychologists. Minimum Qualifications Legal requirements for the practice of medicine in California as determined by the California Board of Medical Quality Assurance or the Board of Osteopathic Examiners. One year of experience in the practice of psychiatry or completion of one year of an approved residency in psychiatry.
