• Setting: Geropsychiatric unit in a hospital environment

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care on the Geropsychiatric Unit, including assessment, monitoring, and timely reporting of patient condition changes
• Perform mental and physical health assessments, maintain accurate patient histories and progress reports
• Administer medications and treatment plans per physician orders; monitor for adverse reactions and report as needed
• Facilitate the therapeutic milieu with daily groups, education, and 1:1 interactions; assist patients with daily activities
• Develop, implement, and coordinate individualized treatment plans with the multidisciplinary treatment team; support discharge planning
• Complete all required documentation promptly, including admissions, assessments, progress notes, and discharge paperwork to ensure continuity of care

Requirements

• Education: Associate degree or diploma from a 3-year nursing program required; Bachelor's degree preferred
• Licensure: Valid State of New Hampshire RN license
• Certification: BLS certification required
• Experience: 1 year of nursing experience preferred
• Skills/Capabilities: Strong mathematical/analytical skills; excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication; ability to work effectively in a geropsychiatric setting
