Join us in empowering individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities or autism. Damar is currently seeking a Residential ABA Therapist to join our highly skilled ABA team. The Residenital ABA Therapist performs a variety of duties, including natural environment training, skills-based treatment, data collection, and behavior intervention, and they also assist the treatment team, including the Program Manager, Program Director and Director of ABA Services and other members as designated, in the evaluation of clinical services.

ABA Autism Services by Damar combines the long-term experience and expertise of Damar with cutting-edge Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) approaches to offer a solution to families facing the challenges of raising a child with autism. While many nonprofit and for-profit businesses offer ABA services, only ABA Autism Services by Damar can back its services with the experience and expertise of an organization that has been serving people with developmental challenges and autism for more than 50 years.

Damar’s ABA program begins with an evaluation that includes a full assessment of each child. Observation time, parent interviews, and the appropriate assessment tools are used to create an individualized treatment plan in order to meet the unique needs of your child with autism. Our services can include:

Pay: $20-$21/hour

Remarkable ways you will be making a difference:

• Provides direct services to children diagnosed with Autism in an ABA setting, using the principles of Applied Behavior Analysis
• Participates in Behavior Skills Training (BST)
• Assists during Practical Functional Assessments
• Provide crisis intervention as necessary
• Operates Damar vehicles and/or personal vehicles to transport clients or perform other work-related duties
• Completes incident reports, including reporting any suspected exploitation, abuse, or neglect of a client
• Performs other duties as assigned
• Serves as a member of Damar Services’ interdisciplinary team
• Prioritizes duties in a manner consistent with organizational objectives and growth
• Flexible and willing to work at any of the Damar ABA facilities
• Actively engaging with clients 7.5 hours per day
• Promote and maintain positive interaction with all internal and external stakeholders
• Identifies solutions to work towards improving stakeholder satisfaction
• Acts as a good steward of Damar and/or client finances
• Seeks the best use of materials, equipment and staff to maximize efficiency and effectiveness
• Utilizes data collection in relation to driving and tracking outcomes and achieving agency initiatives and goals
• Ensures that the agency meets its quality improvement, evaluation and reporting requirements
• Takes pride and ownership in Damar’s facilities and assigned work areas
• Adheres to all policies and procedures as defined in the Employee Handbook, ABA Policy and Procedure Manual and Damar Operational Policies and Procedures Manual
• Maintains neat, chronological documentation of all goals and behaviors
• Keep abreast of current treatment technology, literature, practices, and regulations
• Maintains RBT Certification as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board
• Actively participates in and/or oversees data collection and the use of data to improve outcomes, practices and service delivery
• Maintains documentation that is accurate and legible
• Interacts professionally with parents, school, medical personnel, and all other Damar caregivers and professionals using only excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

What you need to be considered:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree preferred. Must have Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) Certification as outlined by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB)
• ABA therapy experience and/or experience working with children with autism is preferred but not required
• Minimum age of 21 per licensure requirements
• Valid Indiana driver’s license and driving record that meets eligibility requirements of Damar’s insurance carrier (for all positions requiring driving)
• Be clear of any felony convictions, substantiated charges of neglect or other disqualifying criminal convictions
• Successfully complete a pre-employment physical
• Favorably meet and maintain Damar’s background screening
