HR Specialist

The HR Specialist plays a key role at Home Care Placement, supporting the full employment lifecycle for our Home Care Assistants (HCAs). This role owns interviewing, pre-employment clearance, new hire orientation, and ongoing compliance for personnel records, while also representing HCP at community recruiting events and serving as a trusted point of contact for our caregivers. What You'll Do Interview HCA applicants and manage the full pre-employment clearance process (reference checks, criminal background check, Live Scan fingerprinting, TB clearance, and I-9 verification) Facilitate new hire orientation, including new hire paperwork, policy review, and skills/certification verification Maintain accurate personnel files and keep ADP and WellSky records current, proactively flagging expiring certifications or missing documentation Conduct annual performance evaluations and monthly caregiver check-ins to monitor safety and satisfaction Represent HCP at CNA/nursing school career days, job fairs, and vocational program partnerships to build our caregiver pipeline Serve as a liaison between HCAs and the agency, resolving concerns and escalating as needed Provide backup support for the Care Coordinator role and cross-train across branch functions as needed Must pass a Live Scan fingerprint background check and criminal background check Must complete required state disclosure and reporting forms (including mandated reporting for suspected abuse of dependent adults and elders) Valid I-9 employment eligibility documents Current TB clearance Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience preferred 1–2+ years of HR, recruiting, or administrative experience preferred Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills Comfortable working across departments in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with HR policies and home care regulations a plus Schedule Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:30am–5:30pm, based in our Irvine, CA office. $25–28/hr, depending on experience Floating Holidays Birthday PTO Health, Vision, and Dental Insurance 401(k) Retirement Plan Home Care Placement is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
