Job Summary: This full-time day shift position (10:00am-6:30pm) offers an opportunity to contribute to patient safety by ensuring the proper sterilization and preparation of surgical and hospital instruments. Preference is given to candidates with CRCST certification and prior experience in sterilizing medical equipment, though training and certification assistance are available.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform thorough cleaning, decontamination, and sterilization of instruments, metal goods, and equipment used in patient care.
• Assemble and package instruments and implants accurately, ensuring correct labeling and preparation.
• Operate sterilization equipment safely, including HIVAC sterilizers, ultrasonic cleaners, ETO, and Sterrad systems.
• Maintain meticulous documentation of sterilizer charts, record books, and biological indicators.
• Manage the resupply and distribution of sterile and clean items across various hospital units.
• Adhere strictly to body substance precautions, respiratory and AFB isolation protocols, and protective barrier requirements within the sterile processing environment.
• Load and unload sterilization equipment to ensure effective steam or gas sterilization processes.

Education: High school diploma or equivalent is required.

Certifications: Certified/Registered Central Sterile Technician (CRCST) credential is mandatory.

Work Environment: This role may require participation in weeknight, weekend, and holiday on-call rotations, including one holiday call period annually with a 45-minute response expectation.

This position is located in a regional healthcare facility serving the Midwest area of the United States.
