HR Generalist

One of our clients in the government domain is seeking an HR Generalist to support the Department of General Services (DGS) with recruitment, hiring, onboarding, HR transactions, payroll and timekeeping, employee inquiries, and offboarding. The role will coordinate with the HR Director, DGS employees, and HR partners while maintaining accurate and confidential employee information. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities. The HR Generalist will work in downtown Nashville in Davidson County. This would be a hybrid role, working anywhere between 2-5 days a week in-office. Responsibilities: Provide HR support throughout the employee lifecycle. Prepare, process, review, and track HR transactions, including hires, promotions, transfers, separations, retirements, and employee/position changes. Support recruitment, job postings, hiring documentation, interview materials, and hiring manager/HR partner coordination. Coordinate onboarding, orientation, required documentation, communications, and follow-up. Maintain accurate employee information and tracking tools. Respond to employee and manager questions regarding HR policies, procedures, benefits, leave, payroll, and HR programs. Coordinate employee separations and offboarding. Assist with HR projects, process improvements, employee communications, and other HR initiatives. Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure HR actions are completed accurately and timely. Provide professional customer service to employees, managers, and HR partners. Perform other related HR duties as assigned. Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university. Qualifying full-time professional or paraprofessional HR experience may substitute for education on a year-for-year basis, up to four years.
