Travel RN - ICU

American Traveler is seeking an ICU RN for a night shift position requiring an active IN or compact RN license and at least 2 years of ICU experience

Job Details

• Work in the ICU/CCU unit of a hospital,
• Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts (7p-7a),
• Patient ratio of 1:2,
• Every 3rd weekend required, potentially up to every other weekend,
• Holiday rotation required, generally 3 of 6 major holidays,
• May float to Med Surg or the Center of Hope, located 20 minutes from the main ER,
• Uses Meditech charting system,
• No on-call requirements,

Job Requirements

• Active RN license (Indiana or Compact) required,
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, and PALS (preferred),
• SANE certification required in hand at time of consideration,
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required,
• Experience with Meditech charting system required,
• Skilled in chest tube insertion/removal, BiPAP/CPAP management, and care of ventilated patients,
• Experience with high flow nasal cannula (HFNC) and management of pulmonary embolism or respiratory failure,
• Proficient in IV therapy, blood product administration, central line care, and PICC line management,
• Experience managing CVA/acute stroke patients and chronic or acute renal failure,
• Skilled in cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management,
• Experience managing multisystem organ dysfunction/failure and IV insulin protocols,
• Experience titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips,

Additional Information

• Provide care to ICU and Progressive Care patients requiring pressors, sedation, thrombolytic therapy, electrolyte replacement, cardiac monitoring, cardiac drips, hemodynamic monitoring, and ventilator/BiPAP support,
• Perform bedside procedures including chest tube placement, intubation, line placement, cardioversions, lumbar punctures, and thoracentesis, which may require conscious sedation,
• Scrubs may be any color as long as a professional appearance is maintained,
• Local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius of the hospital, with eligibility for a local rate differential,
• Maximum RTO allowed is 7 days; if requested during a holiday period, must be willing to work 1 of the 3 major holidays,
• Previous employees must have been separated from the facility for at least 3 years before returning as a traveler,
