Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a night shift travel contract requiring a CA RN license, prior travel experience, and 4 years of ICU experience with float responsibilities across multiple inpatient units.

Details

• Inpatient hospital ICU setting with float responsibilities to SDICU, Telemetry, and Med Surg units
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• 13-week contract, night shift (7 PM–7 AM), 3x12-hour shifts per week
• Every other weekend required
• No on-call requirement
• Charting system: Epic (required)

Requirements

• Active CA RN license required
• Current certifications required: BLS (AHA or ARC), ACLS, NIHSS
• Minimum 4 years of ICU experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Proficiency with Epic EMR required
• Core ICU skills required include: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, ventilator management, BiPAP/CPAP management, care of ventilated patients, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, CVA/acute stroke management, CVVHD/CRRT, and ABG interpretation
• Preferred skills include: ECMO, IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD, CABG post-op care, TAVR, pulmonary artery/Swan-Ganz monitoring, ICP monitoring, post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management, epicardial pacing wire management, and external ventricular drain (EVD) management
• 2 supervisor references obtained within the past year required for consideration

Additional Information

• Float coverage spans ICU, SDICU, Telemetry, and Med Surg inpatient units
• Local candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are accepted
• Candidates who have previously worked at this facility must have been separated for at least 1 year before returning as a traveler
• RTO is limited to a maximum of 7 days per contract
• Holiday coverage is required; only 1 holiday off per contract may be requested — eligible holidays include New Year's Day, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, and Christmas Day (holidays run from 7 PM the night before through 7 AM the day after)
• A 7-year work history verification is required for all candidates
