Perinatal Sonographer

We are seeking a dedicated Sonographer to join our team at Spotsylvania Regional Medical Center. Job Summary And Qualifications Prepare patients and collect relevant information for completion of procedures Manage ultrasound equipment and recognize significant diagnostic information Demonstrate ability to perform all necessary computer operations, including billing functions Render patient care in a professional and courteous manner and always identify patients using the proper protocol Prepare ultrasound machine, recognize significant diagnostic function, and participate in Equipment Quality Control Program Assist physicians in administering medications, performing invasive procedures, and providing all types of patient care Review patients’ records from the referring physician and perform exams that correlate with physician orders Demonstrate willingness to assist in additional duties Maintain a clean work area by following infection control policies, sterile techniques, and safety policies Maintain strict confidentiality regarding employees and patients Complete and maintain educational requirements Maintain supplies for all examinations and assist with annual supply inventory Initiate and document patient teaching, including family and/or significant other Participate in Quality Program and assist with annual inventory Experience Minimum of 1 year as a staff sonographer (required) Multiple years as a staff sonographer (preferred) Education Graduate of an AMA approved School of Radiology Technology and/or competently trained in ultrasound or graduate of an AMA approved School of Ultrasound Technology; responsible for continuing education credits as mandated by the ARRT and/or ARDMS for licensure Licensure / Certification American Registry of Radiologic Technology or American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (required) Fetal Medicine Foundation and/or Maternal-Fetal Medicine First Trimester Screening Current American Heart Association BLS for Healthcare Providers certification (required) Benefits Comprehensive benefits for medical, prescription drug, dental, vision, behavioral health and telemedicine services Wellbeing support, including free counseling and referral services Time away from work programs for paid time off, paid family leave, long‑ and short-term disability coverage and leaves of absence Savings and retirement resources, including a 401(k) Plan with a 100% match on 3% to 9% of pay (based on years of service), Employee Stock Purchase Plan, flexible spending accounts, preferred banking partnerships, retirement readiness tools, rollover support and financial wellbeing counseling Education support through tuition assistance, student loan assistance, certification support, dependent scholarships and a partnership with Galen College of Nursing Additional benefits for fertility and family building, adoption assistance, life insurance, supplemental health protection plans, auto and home insurance, legal counseling, identity theft protection and consumer discounts Note: Eligibility for benefits may vary by location.
