Orthopedic Surgery TechnicianUnit Notes Techs sent directly to the manager need 2 sup refs (charge accepted) at submittal; 1 w/in 12 mo. & 1 w/in 3 years worked Modules are required to be done before start of assignment. Modules take on average 3-4 hours to complete-this time is not billable to the hospital. For Holiday RTO: Travelers will work 2 of the 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years). Unit managers will make the final call on scheduling, but we would include this verbiage on the confirmation. Holiday time off will be considered, however not guaranteed. Unit OR # suites 3 suites. 2 in use most of the time Certs BLS CST is not required Surgeries per day EMR Cerner Charge Nurse Manager. Nurse Aides CSTs Weekend Requirement No regular weekend. 1 weekend call per month. Holidays Rotate in with core staff Scrub Color Provided. Tele Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG strips. Vents Yes Surgeon available 24/7 During regular hours, call overnight and weekend. IV Team No RT 24/7 Yes Pharmacy 24/7 Yes Call Varies. Ask about expectations for call. Floor specific orientation 1 - 2 days in OR with preceptor.
