It will process up to 300,000 tonnes of waste annually, generating sustainable electricity for thousands of homes while reducing landfill. ACCIONA is delivering this complex infrastructure project with cutting-edge technology and a strong focus on environmental outcomes.About the opportunityTo implement and monitor systems and processes through good practice to maximise the process and ensuring health, safety and environmental compliance on a 24 hour shift system. As part of a team, carry out plant and equipment process changes to optimise process performance within health, safety and environmental compliance. The role involves process and equipment fault diagnosis and rectification, system isolations.Build and maintain relationships with colleagues to ensure effective communication across the site. You will be required to be totally flexible and carry out other duties identified from time to time ensuring site objectives are achieved.ResponsibilitiesCarry out routine tasks and testing of plant equipmentUpdate the shift log including plant and process changes, diligent shift handover to ensure effective communication to the following shift.Ensure that all defect reporting within CMMS is effective and followed through to completion promptly and that PPM's are completed as requireSupport of safe working processes (PTW) and implementation of safety systems.Management of contractors and control of their work areas.Ensure that each site complies with, and achieves, all the contractual and performance obligations under the relevant contract/s.Management Systems are successfully implemented and ensure that the Operations Team is engendered with a safety-first culture.Assist and support in the preparation of submissions and reportsAssist the Shift Team Leader to develop strategic plans for Operations and implement strategies as required.Required Skills and Competencies3+ Thermal Energy Operations or equivalent industry experienceBoiler and STG operating ticketExperience in working closely with large and diverse O&M teamsHigh attention to detailStrong to Advanced excel skillsACCIONA has been given the Top Employer 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025 certification in Australia, which certifies the company's commitment to excellence in human resources management and those who focus on putting their people first through their exceptional HR policies.
