Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of the job.Plan, organize and implement daily lessons in accordance with the approved curriculumConduct pre-testing and post-testing using standardized tests for each studentAs a part of a team, write and implement goals as outlined in each student's IEPResponsible to manage a student’s behaviorDemonstrate competency in all subject areasParticipate in the identification of students with possible disabilities post intervention phaseProvide direct student instructionProvide academic assessmentsSchedule and chair IEP meetings including 30-day review IEP meetings for all studentsMeet special education timeline requirements as specified by education codeCollaborate with general education teachersWork with Special Education Program Specialists and school support staff to support student instructionParticipate in authorized school district trainings, school events, and meetingsMaintain documentation of communications with students, families, and other services providers.Maintain documentation of daily activities.Complete reports and forms as requiredPerform administrative duties, responsibilities, and activities as assigned. These may be changed or modified from time to time.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIESKnowledge and understanding of laws, regulations, policies, and procedures relevant to the area of employment Knowledge of Special Education Program guidelinesExcellent reading and writing SkillsOrganizational skillsAbility to meet required Program deadlinesAbility to work with a diverse student populationAbility to work in a team environmentMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSBachelor’s DegreeValid Michigan Teaching Certificate with an endorsement in Special Education is requiredEnglish Language and Autism AuthorizationsPrior experience working with exceptional learners strongly recommendedEligibility to obtain a teaching permit or teaching internshipProficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Word, in addition to a variety of educational software programs • Profficient level of skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other Educational Technology applicationsAbility to travel in performance of job duties is requiredAbility to lift, carry, push, pull objects weighing up to 10 poundsPHYSICAL REQUIREMENTSMental Demands: medium workflow management, medium project coordination, high people engagement.Finger Dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.Talking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.Average Hearing: able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.Average Visual Abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents, operate office equipment or machinery.Frequent multi-tasking, changing of task priorities, repetitious exacting work required.Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.Working in a low to moderate noise environment with frequent deadline pressures.Work Location: In person #J-18808-Ljbffr Learn4Life Pontiac
