CVICU Registered Nurse (RN) - 3x12-Hour Shifts

Assignment Duration

This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

3x12-Hour Day Shifts from 07:30 to 20:00.

Job Description

The CVICU Registered Nurse will provide care for adult and geriatric patients immediately post-operative from cardiac surgery, including but not limited to CABG and valve procedures. The position involves intensive monitoring and management of patients on ventilators and other advanced interventions.

Responsibilities

• Delivering immediate post-op care for cardiac surgery patients.
• Managing ventilation and respiratory therapy.
• Utilizing advanced monitoring techniques (Flo Trac, CRRT, IABP, Impella).
• Performing artery management (fem stop, TR bands).
• Maintaining a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1:2 in CVICU and 1:3 if floated to IMC.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum 1 year of experience in CVICU, with 2+ years preferred for first-time travelers.
• Current RN license from Maryland or Compact State.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required; NIH certification preferred.
• Previous charge nurse experience is preferred.
