This role supports the development, testing, and continuous improvement of clinical information systems used in healthcare environments. You will serve as a technical resource across validation projects, helping ensure systems are reliable, compliant, and aligned with clinical and business needs. The position combines quality assurance, clinical systems support, interface testing, troubleshooting, and project coordination. You will work closely with physicians, clinical teams, technical stakeholders, and other departments to resolve issues and improve system functionality. A strong focus is placed on comprehensive testing, HL7 interfaces, EMR/EHR integrations, and adherence to healthcare standards and HIPAA requirements. Accountabilities:

The role is responsible for validating clinical information systems and supporting their development, implementation, and ongoing performance. You will coordinate testing activities, investigate system issues, and act as a technical resource for clinical and project teams.

• Develop, implement, maintain, and execute comprehensive test scripts for clinical information systems.
• Test and evaluate new system versions before implementation at beta sites, following established testing plans.
• Perform functional, application, regression, and performance testing for new releases.
• Interpret user-reported problems and recommend system changes to resolve defects and improve functionality and performance.
• Conduct and facilitate research and testing to ensure hospital and physician interfaces conform to applicable HL7 standards.
• Participate in on-site beta testing activities and review and update testing plans annually.
• Respond to physician questions and reported issues, prioritizing requests and facilitating timely resolutions.
• Maintain and update quality assurance items in JIRA for production issues, current builds, and specific projects.
• Collaborate with cross-functional departments to investigate and resolve technical and clinical systems issues.
• Provide accurate, professional, and timely communication to physicians and internal stakeholders.
• Support departmental objectives and accept additional assignments as needed to maintain continuity of services.
• Follow applicable organizational, facility, and departmental safety procedures.
• Monitor and support compliance with HIPAA guidelines within clinical information systems.
• Participate in flexible schedules, including night shifts and on-call rotations.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate brings healthcare technology and quality assurance experience, with a strong understanding of clinical systems, testing methodologies, and healthcare interfaces. You should be analytical, adaptable, and comfortable working independently while collaborating with a wide range of clinical and technical stakeholders.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
• 35 years of experience as a Quality Assurance Analyst or Product Support Analyst in a healthcare environment preferred.
• Experience with test planning, test design, testing metrics, product development lifecycles, and formal testing methodologies.
• Experience with EMR/EHR interfaces and implementations.
• Practical experience with HL7 interfaces and the ability to understand HL7 standards.
• Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to adapt communication to different audiences.
• Familiarity with NICU or office-based clinical environments and their workflows preferred.
• Experience with change management and tracking defects, enhancements, and new features.
• Knowledge of source and version control systems.
• Familiarity with commercial integration engine products is a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, email, and Windows environments.
• Working knowledge of quality assurance processes and methodologies.
• Knowledge of Visual Basic, automated testing tools, and relational databases such as SQL preferred.
• Ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, prioritize competing demands, multitask, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness and ability to work flexible schedules, including night shifts and on-call rotations.
