Job Summary:
The CVOR Registered Nurse is responsible for assessing and caring for patients undergoing cardiovascular surgical procedures, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes throughout the perioperative process. The role involves leading the surgical team, coordinating care, and maintaining sterile protocols.

Responsibilities:

• Assess the needs of the surgical patient and develop a tailored plan of care for each case.
• Implement and adjust the care plan during procedures, prioritizing patient safety.
• Supervise activity within the operating room, including equipment preparation and team coordination.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, surgeons, OR team members, and ancillary staff.
• Participate in staff development through educational meetings, seminars, and leadership opportunities.
• Assist anesthesia providers as needed and monitor the sterile field continuously.

Qualifications:

• Hold a Michigan license as a registered nurse with active certification.
• Possess a minimum of 3 years of CVOR experience, including open-heart surgery.
• Demonstrate prior travel experience in a surgical setting.
• Provide current BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• Submit two supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years.
