Lead Data Engineer

Lead Engineer Remote (US-based) $65 - $75 per hour ABOUT THE ROLE Join Brooksource as a Lead Engineer, where you will combine hands-on application development with technical leadership and solution design influence. In this fully remote role, you will support end-to-end delivery across SaaS and custom applications, APIs, integrations, automation, and production implementation. You will work closely with engineering, architecture, and operational partners to shape solutions, guide developers, maintain implementation quality, and support applications through production. This position reports into a technical engineering team and collaborates cross-functionally with architecture, operational, and build teams. WHAT YOU'LL DO Lead hands-on development and technical delivery of application products and services from design through production implementation Contribute to solution architecture, participate in design reviews, and create both conceptual and detailed technical design documentation Develop and support SaaS platforms, custom applications, APIs, integrations, and automation with a focus on production-quality implementation Provide technical leadership through mentoring, developer guidance, code review, and engineering best practices Partner with architecture, operational, and build teams to define testing, implementation, upgrade, and patch strategies Monitor implementation quality, communicate delivery progress and technical risks, and support Tier 3 application issues and change activities Collaborate across engineering, architecture, and operational teams to ensure clear communication of technical risks, decisions, and delivery progress Create clear technical design documentation and provide a software-engineering perspective on system requirements Support production applications, including advanced troubleshooting, upgrades, patches, and implementation support WHAT YOU BRING Strong hands-on application engineering experience with SaaS, custom applications, APIs, integrations, automation, and production implementation Proven technical leadership skills, including mentoring developers, influencing code quality, and guiding engineering best practices without requiring formal people-management authority Experience contributing to solution architecture, technical design reviews, and implementation-quality oversight Ability to support production applications, including advanced troubleshooting, upgrades, patches, and implementation support Excellent collaboration and communication skills across engineering, architecture, and operational teams Ability to clearly communicate technical risks, decisions, and delivery progress Experience creating technical design documentation and providing software-engineering perspectives on system requirements WHAT'S IN IT FOR YOU 401(k) matching plan Medical, dental, and vision plans Health Savings Account, Dependent Care FSA, and supplemental coverage options Paid time off, sick time, and 6 paid company holidays Employee Assistance Program (EAP) with services like virtual counseling, financial and legal services, and life coaching Relationship-driven process to find your best fit and regular meetings to ensure quality in your engagement Supportive, collaborative work environment with opportunities for professional growth ABOUT US At Brooksource, relationships are the foundation of everything we do.
