Title: Business System Analyst V (Hybrid BSA / QA Automation)
Location: 1 Seneca St Buffalo, NY 14203
Schedule: 4 days onsite, 1 day remote
Contract Length: Approximately 9 months through July 2027 

Position Overview

This role supports the ACAPS application within M&T's Consumer Lending organization. ACAPS serves as the system of record for consumer loan origination and underwriting activities, including indirect auto loans, direct loans, retail credit cards, and business credit cards.

The position is not a traditional BSA role. The team uses a hybrid BSA/Quality Engineering model where the analyst owns requirements, solution analysis, testing strategy, test execution, and test automation efforts. The immediate need is driven by a large modernization initiative that is replacing end-of-life services and migrating integrations to new JSON-based APIs. Significant testing and regression validation is required, creating the need for an additional experienced BSA who can help drive both testing and automation efforts.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather, analyze, and document business and system requirements.
• Perform solution analysis and support delivery of application enhancements.
• Design, execute, and own end-to-end functional, system integration, and integration testing.
• Develop and expand automated test coverage to reduce manual regression testing.
• Partner with developers to identify testing bottlenecks and automation opportunities.
• Support validation of service migration efforts from legacy integrations to new API-based services.
• Create reusable testing artifacts and automation assets for future initiatives.
• Work closely with the existing senior BSA to learn application flows and business processes.

Required Qualifications

• 6+ years of Business Systems Analysis experience.
• Strong Consumer Lending domain experience.
• Experience supporting loan origination, underwriting, consumer credit, indirect lending, direct lending, or similar lending platforms.
• Proven experience owning end-to-end testing activities.
• Experience performing system integration testing and functional testing.
• Demonstrated ability to improve test coverage through automation initiatives.
• Ability to work closely with both business stakeholders and technical development teams.
• Strong understanding of application workflows and end-to-end business processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with ACAPS.
• Experience working with both BSA and QA/Testing responsibilities in the same role.
• Knowledge of mainframe environments.
• Experience supporting .NET-based applications.
• Experience creating automated test solutions in complex enterprise environments.
• Exposure to API testing and service validation.
• Experience with Postman.
• Experience with mainframe automation approaches, screen-scraping tools, Ruby/Cucumber, or similar automation frameworks.
