Location: USA – Mesa, 7232 E Elliot Rd Division: Solutions Job Title: Health & Safety Manager Time Type: Full Time Position Summary The Safety Manager leads operational injury prevention, task assessment, safety communications, hazardous materials compliance, and regulatory compliance. They develop, implement, and manage company safety programs, policies and procedures to create a safe, secure, healthy, and accident‑free work environment. The role ensures compliance with statutory requirements (including OHSAS 18001 and ISO 14001) across our Solutions environment. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Supports and promotes safe practices and environmental commitments in alignment with company policies and compliance requirements. Applies working knowledge of HSE regulations such as PIT, Hazard Communication, EAP, LOTO, Machine Guarding, Fire Prevention, and Electrical Safety. Conducts pre‑operational risk assessments on new sites, designs, proposes, and implements risk mitigation measures within the region. Provides training and coaching to local Health & Safety Managers to ensure technical competence and leadership development across the region. Creates a positive partnership with Facility Leadership and serves as point of contact for safety related matters. Conduct HSE audits and assessments of ongoing operations to measure compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies. Plans, administers, and manages organization safety policies, programs, procedures, and systems for the assigned region and ensures all employees receive HSE inductions. Acts as DSV representative for OSHA, EPA, FDA, or other regulatory agencies and addresses any issues that arise on site. Fosters teamwork and pride in the company safety program. Publishes monthly safety topics and training for site level use. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local health, safety, environmental regulations and Life Safety Code as well as customer specific requirements. Monitors HSE controllers and Site Managers in executing safe work practices. Assists in investigating the root cause of HSE complaints from employees, customers, clients, and contractors. Follows up to ensure corrective actions are implemented and certification requirements are complied with. Coordinates investigation and analysis of accidents and near misses; recommends corrective actions with site safety designees. Coordinates with site safety managers on HS&E plans in line with Quality Management System policies. Ensures implementation of emergency procedures (EAP, ERP, BCP, EDP). Coordinates and delivers HSE training regionally when required. Provides information on HSE for RFP submissions. Maintains up‑to‑date risk registers and relevant documentation (rigor/non‑routine risks, job hazard analysis, OSHA 300 log). Assists in completing OSHA surveys and in administering workers’ compensation claims, including Return to Work programs. Prepares and maintains documents for proper storage and handling of hazardous materials at all applicable facilities. Applies knowledge of EPA and DOT regulations including HAZWOPER and Hazard Communication. Oversees transportation of hazardous materials in compliance with EPA, DOT, IMDG, and IATA regulations. Develops and implements training for shipping, handling, and storage of hazardous materials as required by law. Must be available for after‑hours calls and/or responses. Education & Experience Minimum 5 years in a medium to large warehouse HSE management capacity supervising 5 or more associates. Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or related field (preferred). Prior experience in safety observations, inspections, compliance strategy development, and plan implementation. Knowledge of current environmental and sustainability topics (regulations, green energy technologies, GHG, waste management, energy/water conservation). Computer Skills Strong computer skills are required. Proficient use of MS Office applications. Certificates & Licenses Associate Safety Professional (ASP) or similar certification preferred. Language Skills English – reading, writing, and verbal. Bilingual (Preferred). Mathematical Skills Intermediate spreadsheet skills to develop trends and track safety program effectiveness. Other Skills Ability to manage indirect reports. Excellent training, communication, supervisory, and people skills. Strong project management and analytical skills with attention to detail. Ability to wear PPE such as steel toe shoes, safety glasses, ear protection, and other required PPE. Compensation Expected base pay range: $107,000.00 – $110,000.00. Actual compensation will be based on experience, skills, education, certifications, and geographic location.
