The Mayor's Office of Mass Engagement (OME) is responsible for strategizing, coordinating, and executing on engagement that reaches the masses of everyday New Yorkers. We engage New Yorkers in shaping policy outcomes, demystifying government, and ensuring that the government remains accountable to serving the people of this great City. The Deputy Chief of Staff of Campaigns will serve as a Deputy Chief of Staff specifically focused on supporting the Campaigns team. This role reports to OME's Chief of Staff and works in collaboration with OME's Director of Campaigns. Responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:Create and maintain systems for coordination with campaigns across OME teams and other City Hall teams, including Borough-Based organizing, Faith, Communities, Co-governance, and others.Coordinate internal and external meetings for the Campaigns team by managing the schedule for team meetings, stakeholder meetings, and cross-department coordination.Create systems for accountability and follow-through after meetings, including note-taking systems to capture key decisions; turning discussions into action items, owners, and deadlines; tracking follow-up and making sure next steps are completed; provide staff training on these topics as required.Assist in managing day-to-day operations of the Campaigns team, including supporting project management across the team.Identify opportunities to support in building a positive, effective, and trusting team culture; help identify opportunities for professional development of team members.Work with the Chief of Staff and Campaigns Director to closely track and proactively manage political, legal, and communications developments which bear on the mission, activity, and personnel of the office.Support & advise the Campaigns Director and Campaign Managers in running strong, well-organized campaigns that engage New Yorkers across the five boroughs and develop skills and leadership of volunteers.About You: You are extremely organized and detail-oriented, and can manage multiple workstreams. You have strong relationship-building and stakeholder management abilities. You have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. You have excellent political judgment and strategic thinking abilities. You are a creative thinker and problem-solver.Minimum Qualifications1. Do you have a baccalaureate degree from an accredited college or university? 2. Do you have an associate degree from an accredited college or university along with two (2) years of experience with administrative, analytic, coordinative, supervisory or liaison responsibilities? 3. Do you have a four-year high school diploma, or its educational equivalent approved by a state's Department of Education or a recognized accrediting organization along with four (4) years of experience as described in question "2" above? 4. Do you have a satisfactory combination of education and/or experience equivalent to that described in questions "1," "2," and/or "3" above? However, all candidates must have at least one year of experience as described in "1" above.Preferred SkillsYou are excellent at collaboration and building and maintaining a wide array of working relationships.
