Associate Regulatory Compliance SpecialistThe Associate Regulatory Compliance Specialist supports international trade compliance by managing post-entry processes, product classifications, and regulatory documentation. This role ensures adherence to U.S. Customs and Participating Government Agency (PGA) requirements while contributing to process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives. The position partners with internal teams and clients to resolve compliance issues and maintain accurate, compliant import/export activities.Duties & Responsibilities:Ensure compliant vetting of the client and timely establishment of the client recordPrepare and support submission of post-entry filings in accordance with established proceduresProcess powers of attorney (POA) and sub-POAsMaintain compliance documentation, policies, and procedures under guidanceProcess and maintain continuous bonds and related updatesFollow established processes to support U.S. Customs and PGA compliance requirementsSupport internal teams with compliance-related requests and standard classification needsLearn and apply regulatory requirements under guidanceInvestigate and resolve routine shipment, system, and compliance-related issuesEscalate complex compliance issues, discrepancies, or regulatory concerns as neededAssist in reviewing Customs inquiries and supporting required responsesIdentify and report process inefficiencies or recurring issuesSupport troubleshooting of system or workflow issuesParticipate in process improvement initiatives led by senior team membersSupport new client onboarding by completing required compliance setup tasksPartner with internal teams to ensure consistent compliance processesAssist with corporate compliance projects and cross-office initiativesMaintain accurate and organized compliance recordsEnsure documentation is complete and submission-readySupport audit preparation activities by gathering required documentationPerform other duties as assigned.Benchmarks For Measuring Success:Timely support of new client onboarding by completing required compliance setup tasksEnsures proper client vetting through established government processesReduces compliance-related errors, rework, or penalties through proactive issue resolutionSupports successful resolution of Customs inquiries and government agency auditsContributes to process improvement initiatives that increase operational efficiencyMaintains audit-ready documentation and adherence to internal compliance standardsSkills & Qualifications:Technical Skills: Understanding of U.S. Customs regulations and import/export complianceProficiency in freight forwarding/compliance systemsBusiness Skills: Strong attention to detail and accuracyProcess improvement and operational efficiency mindsetAnalytical thinking and problem-solvingRequired Qualifications: 2–3 years of experience in international trade, freight forwarding, or similar industryWorking knowledge of U.S. Customs compliance proceduresStrong communication and organizational skillsPreferred Qualifications: Industry certifications (e.g., CCS, CES, LCB/CHB)Experience with PGA compliance requirementsOffice / Work Environment & Physical DemandsThis position operates in a professional office environment (and/or remotely from a home office) with a quiet to moderate noise level and routinely requires the use of standard office equipment such computers, photocopying machines and storage/filing cabinets.
