Part Time Seasonal Miami Beach, FL, US POSITION SUMMARY: Under the general guidance of the Banquets Manager, assist in ensuring all duties and responsibilities for the set-up and serving of food and beverages to guests at all banquet functions, according to the hotel standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Prepare beverages for guests in a timely manner and up to hotel standards. Ensure consistent beverage preparation, presentation and quality Exercise good judgments in determining potentially intoxicated guests Maintain good coordination while preparing and serving orders quickly Interact with guests and patrons Ensure all working areas are maintained in a clean and hygienic condition at all times Understand the operational set up and principle of the restaurant or lounge Maintain knowledge of all menus within the hotel Maintain stock and supplies of the banquet Maintain up to date and accurate knowledge of all Food and Beverage. Set up stations and do side jobs to ensure adequate mis-en-place. Provide a genuine warm and caring service to guests. Set up events within the required time. Maintain the Room Service and Events equipment and area in an organized and clean condition at all times. Maintain good communication with all team members and guests. Perform all other duties as requested. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Most work tasks are performed indoors. Temperature is moderate and controlled by hotel environmental systems; however, must be able to work in extreme temperatures like freezers (-10°F) and kitchens (+110°F), possibly for one hour or more. Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 4 hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to reach other departments of the hotel on a timely basis. Must be able to lift trays of food or food items weighing up to 30 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. frequently. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space and to reach other locations of the hotel on a timely basis. Must be able to exert well-paced ability in limited space. Must be able to bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill cleaning tasks. Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening, and hearing ability and visual acuity. Talking and hearing occur continuously in the process of communicating with guests, supervisors, and subordinates. Vision occurs continuously with the most common visual functions being those of near vision and depth perception. Requires manual dexterity to use and operate all necessary equipment. QUALIFICATION STANDARDS Must be minimum age to serve alcohol. Education: High school or equivalent education required. Experience: Two to three (2-3) years of as a Banquet Server within hotel or full-service restaurant industry experience or equivalent. Costumer service experience preferred. QUALIFICATIONS: High school or equivalent education required. Two years experience as Banquet Bartender in full service restaurant or hotel is required. Customer service experience preferred. Must be minimum age to serve alcohol.
