Registered Nurse – PICU (Pediatric Intensive Care Unit)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Onsite | Rotating Day/Night Shifts (3x12-Hour Shifts) | Days: 7:00am–7:30pm | Nights: 7:00pm–7:30am

Key Responsibilities

• Provide specialized nursing care to pediatric patients ranging in age up to 25 years in an intensive care setting
• Perform epilepsy monitoring and administer inotropes as required by patient care needs
• Conduct and interpret EKG/ECG rhythm recognition in support of patient monitoring and safety
• Rotate between day and night shifts as needed to meet operational demands of the unit
• Complete required orientation assessments including ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate with an acceptable passing score
• Participate in holiday rotation, working at minimum every other holiday as scheduled

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license – must hold a permanent Ohio license or a Compact State license in hand at time of submission
• Minimum 18 months of permanent experience in PICU or the specialty being applied for
• Minimum 18 months of recent Pediatric nursing experience (travel experience accepted)
• Active AHA or American Red Cross BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required and must be in hand at time of submission
• Proficiency with EKG interpretation and inotrope administration
• One professional reference required from a manager, assistant nurse manager, supervisor, or director within the applicable specialty from an assignment worked within the past 12 months

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification preferred
• Experience with epilepsy monitoring in a pediatric or intensive care environment
