Job Position: Phlebotomist/Medical Assistant

Location: Pooler, GA 31322

Pay Rate: $18.00/hr.

Shift: 1st

Description: Coastal Medical Staffing is seeking either an experienced Certified Medical Assistant with exceptional phlebotomy skills or an experienced Phlebotomist interested in expanding into a Medical Assistant role for a well-established family medicine clinic in Pooler, GA.

This practice follows a patient-centered, relationship-based model of care, allowing providers and staff to spend meaningful time with each patient rather than rushing through appointments. You'll become part of a small, close-knit team where every employee plays an important role in delivering high-quality, compassionate healthcare.

Responsibilities

• Room patients and obtain vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
• Perform confident, accurate blood draws using straight needles
• Collect, label, and prepare laboratory specimens
• Administer injections and perform other clinical procedures within scope
• Assist the provider with examinations and minor office procedures
• Prepare and sanitize exam rooms between patients
• Accurately document patient information within the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Answer patient questions and provide outstanding customer service
• Maintain OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control standards
• Collaborate with a small clinical team to provide exceptional patient care

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA, RMA, CCMA, or equivalent) OR an experienced Phlebotomist
• Hands-on phlebotomy experience is required
• Must be highly proficient performing blood draws using straight needles
• Experienced Phlebotomists who are interested in learning the Medical Assistant role are encouraged to apply. The practice is happy to train an experienced phlebotomist on the medical assisting responsibilities.
• Medical Assistants must already possess strong phlebotomy skills. The practice cannot train someone to become proficient in blood draws.
• Previous experience in Family Medicine, Primary Care, or Internal Medicine is preferred but not required
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Professional, dependable, and compassionate
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment
