RRT Respiratory Therapist Neurodiagnostics

Job Summary:

The Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) provides specialized respiratory care and neurodiagnostic procedures across multiple hospital units. This role involves delivering patient assessments, administering respiratory treatments, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to support patient care in a fast-paced acute care environment. The therapist will float between units and adhere to established patient-to-staff ratios, ensuring high-quality care delivery. Responsibilities:

• Perform respiratory therapy and neurodiagnostic procedures as ordered by physicians.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor respiratory status and neurodiagnostic data.
• Administer respiratory treatments, including oxygen therapy, ventilation management, and airway care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
• Float between hospital units to provide respiratory and neurodiagnostic services as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments using Epic charting system.
• Adhere to hospital policies, safety standards, and infection control protocols.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Current Washington State Respiratory Therapist license (WA LIC IN HAND).
• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential.
• Experience in acute care respiratory therapy and neurodiagnostic procedures.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced hospital environment.
• Proficient in electronic medical record documentation, preferably Epic.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in short-term acute care or trauma center settings.
• Familiarity with pediatric trauma care.
• Additional certifications related to respiratory or neurodiagnostic specialties.

Special Considerations:

• Must float between multiple hospital units as assigned.
• No on-call duties required.
• Every other weekend work is required.
• Patient-to-staff ratio expected is approximately 1:11.
• Block scheduling is required and 48-hour shifts are approved.

• Weekend work every other weekend is mandatory.
• Shift assignments may vary depending on unit needs and float requirements.
