Senior Manager, Material Planning

Senior Manager overseeing raw component material planning, MRP integrity, and supply chain processes at Intuitive Surgical. Directs planning strategies, yield optimization, kanban implementation, and cross-functional collaboration to ensure component availability and operational excellence across manufacturing facilities.

Responsibilities

• Establish policies and strategies for component-level planning, MRP integrity, and inventory buffering
• Lead yield planning reviews, kanban sizing, and closed-loop implementation with manufacturing and procurement teams
• Identify chronic shortages and drive recovery plans to improve material flow from warehouse to production lines
• Guide major product transitions and alternate parts planning to minimize excess and obsolescence
• Establish key performance metrics and enhance planning tools and ERP functionality for scalability

Requirements

• 12+ years experience in production planning, demand/supply planning, purchasing, or inventory management
• 5+ years directly managing high-performing teams
• Master's or Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Detailed knowledge of material planning, ERP systems, and advanced planning tools
• Strong analytical, process-driven mindset with data problem-solving capabilities
• Cross-functional influence and stakeholder management in matrixed environments
• Excellent verbal, written, and executive communication skills
