Job Summary:
Dietitian - Location unspecified. This position involves providing comprehensive nutritional care to patients with special needs or those meeting nutritional risk criteria within an acute inpatient setting. The role requires a focus on patient assessment, development of nutritional plans, interdisciplinary collaboration, and documentation, ensuring clinical effectiveness and safety. The dietitian acts as a clinical resource and educator for healthcare team members, patients, and families, predominantly during day shift hours.

Job Details:

• Schedule: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, minimum 40 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in food and nutrition or equivalent; Master's Degree required if eligibility for examination begins on or after 01/01/2024. Experience as a Clinical Dietitian preferred. Dietetic internship or its equivalent required. Registered Dietitian (RD) certification required within 6 months of residency completion.
• Preferred Qualifications: Extensive experience with Parenteral Nutrition and functioning independently in all clinical areas. EPIC electronic medical record system experience required.
• Additional Information: Performs patient assessments to determine nutritional risk, monitors nutritional intake, initializes interventions, and evaluates response to nutritional therapy. Responsible for initial and ongoing nutritional assessments, planning, and data collection. Supervises indirect data collection by assigned personnel. Provides clinical education and training to staff, interns, patients, and families. May be required to float throughout the Kern County network as needed.
