Registered Nurse (RN)

NaphCare is hiring Registered Nurses (RNs) to join our team of medical professionals in Clio, AL, where we manage all aspects of healthcare for individuals who are currently incarcerated in the Easterling Correctional Facility. New grads are encouraged to apply – we’ll train you in the exciting field of correctional healthcare! Responsibilities Perform initial health screenings and physical assessments of newly detained individuals. Monitor and document patient health including vital signs and medical histories. Provide direct patient care, triage, assess patient needs, develop care plans, and coordinate services. Manage acute and chronic conditions such as asthma, hypertension, and diabetes. Respond to medical emergencies, provide first aid, and ensure timely transport to appropriate healthcare facilities. Educate patients on preventative care, healthy lifestyle choices, and substance abuse prevention. Understand and adhere to correctional facility security protocols, working closely with officers and other healthcare professionals to ensure safety and well‑being. Maintain accurate medical records, document treatment plans, and report relevant information. Qualifications Holds a current, unrestricted license as a Registered Nurse in the state of Alabama. Must possess an active BLS CPR Certification (AHA required). Knowledge of nursing practice principles, occupational health and safety standards, infectious disease management, applicable health care laws, regulations, and procedures for direct health care services. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem‑solving skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Flexible schedule and availability to work overtime as needed. Integrity, professionalism, and adherence to a Code of Conduct and all facility correctional healthcare policies, procedures, and legal requirements. Ability to interact effectively with patients from diverse backgrounds, including those with mental health or substance abuse issues. Maintain confidentiality of all proprietary and confidential information. Must pass the facility’s criminal background check and drug screening. Physical Capabilities Must stand for long periods, lift and move patients up to 50 pounds, bend, squat, reach, push, pull, walk significant distances, and perform physically demanding tasks such as CPR while maintaining good balance and endurance.
