Manufacturing Technician

This role supports the safe and compliant manufacture of products in a cleanroom environment by executing batch records, work instructions, and standard operating procedures with a strong focus on safety, accuracy, and cGMP compliance. The Manufacturing Technician (BAM Tech II) weighs, transfers, and mixes chemicals, documents all activities to meet regulatory requirements, performs equipment testing and troubleshooting, and supports continuous improvement and lean activities within a highly regulated production setting.
Responsibilities
- Work in a cleanroom environment while consistently following all safety procedures and using appropriate personal protective equipment.
- Prepare for and execute manufacturing batch records, work instructions, and standard operating procedures with a focus on safety and right‑first‑time execution with minimal guidance.
- Weigh, transfer, and mix chemicals accurately according to batch records and process instructions.
- Document all manufacturing activities in accordance with cGMP requirements to ensure complete, accurate, and compliant records.
- Maintain cGMP compliance in all assigned tasks and escalate any deviations or issues as needed.
- Complete preventative maintenance tasks and work notifications on time to support reliable equipment performance.
- Perform equipment testing and routine troubleshooting of process and analytical equipment to maintain efficient operations.
- Draft, review, and revise documents, including procedures and work instructions, as necessary to reflect current practices.
- Run in‑process analytical testing as required to support manufacturing operations and product quality.
- Maintain raw materials inventory using systems such as Kanban to ensure adequate supply for production activities.
- Keep training records up to date and complete required training within defined timelines.
- Participate in safety inspections and other safety-related activities to support a safe work environment.
- Contribute to improvement projects and lean activities aimed at enhancing efficiency, quality, and safety.
- Participate in shift exchanges, one‑on‑one discussions, and team meetings to ensure effective communication and alignment with area needs.
- Support production activities by working collaboratively with team members during extended processes and adhering to process requirements.
- Experience working in a manufacturing and/or cGMP environment.
- Experience functioning in a cleanroom environment.
- Ability to follow batch records, work instructions, and standard operating procedures accurately and consistently.
- Strong understanding of cGMP principles and the ability to maintain compliance in all assigned work.
- Ability to perform accurate weighing, transferring, and mixing of chemicals.
- Strong math skills, including rounding decimals to the tenth or hundredth, multiplying decimals, and performing unit conversions (for example, g to L or mL to L).
- Ability to perform basic equipment testing and routine troubleshooting of process and analytical equipment.
- Ability to maintain detailed, accurate documentation to meet regulatory and quality requirements.
- Capability to work in a cleanroom environment that requires strict adherence to gowning and contamination control procedures.
- Willingness and ability to work a 2nd shift schedule (approximately 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m.) with rotating 10-hour shifts (2‑2‑2‑3 pattern).
- High school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Experience with aseptic technique is preferred.
- Prior experience with production, batch records, and GMP processes is beneficial.
- Familiarity with Kanban or similar systems for managing raw materials inventory is an advantage.
- Comfort working in a moderate to high noise environment without the use of headphones.
- Ability to remain in the production core for extended periods (up to approximately six hours) to support continuous processes.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to right‑first‑time execution.
- Willingness to participate in improvement projects, lean activities, and safety inspections.

Work Environment
This position operates primarily on 2nd shift, typically from 1:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m., following a rotating 10‑hour schedule (2‑2‑2‑3). On‑the‑job training takes place on 2nd or 3rd shift, with more trainers available on 3rd shift, though 2nd shift training can be accommodated. The work is performed in a controlled cleanroom environment that requires full gowning and strict adherence to contamination control rules; this includes no beards, no fake eyelashes or nails, no nail polish, and avoidance of any items that could compromise product integrity. The noise level ranges from moderate to high, and headphones are not permitted, which may be important for individuals sensitive to noise. Certain production processes can last up to six hours, during which team members must remain in the core area and may not leave for breaks until the entire process is complete; this is an important consideration for anyone with specific dietary or medication needs. The environment emphasizes safety, cleanliness, and adherence to cGMP standards, with access to process and analytical equipment, preventive maintenance activities, and regular participation in shift exchanges and team meetings.
