Medical Lab Scientist Microbiology

Pride Health is hiring a Medical Lab Scientist Microbiology to support our client's medical facility in Birmingham, AL. This is a 3-month assignment and it's a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organization!

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Medical Lab Scientist to join our client's Microbiology team in Birmingham, AL. This is an excellent opportunity for a laboratory professional with strong microbiology experience who thrives in a fast-paced clinical environment and is looking for a contract role with possible long-term potential.

Key Responsibilities

Receive, process, and prepare laboratory specimens for testing
Perform microbiology testing and culture set-ups
Read bacteriology plates/media and interpret susceptibilities
Maintain accurate quality control documentation and records
Support laboratory maintenance and compliance procedures
Collaborate closely with laboratory staff and team leads

Skills & Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related Biological Science required
Minimum of 2 years of documented microbiology experience, specifically reading bacteriology plates/media
Experience working in a Microbiology Lab environment required

Additional Information

Location: Birmingham, AL
Job Type: 03 Months (Contract to Hire)
Pay Range: $32 - $36 hourly
Shifts: 1st Shift (6:00 AM 2:30 PM)
