divh2Medical Lab Scientist I/h2pOur client, a Clinical Laboratory company, is looking for a Medical Lab Scientist I for their Birmingham, AL location./ph3Responsibilities:/h3ulliResponsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist or clinical laboratory scientist./liliWork environment/department will be listed in requirement./liliDetermine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria./liliPerform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures./liliMonitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality./liliDemonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving./liliPrepare, test, and evaluate new reagents or controls./liliReport accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care./liliPerform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures. Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary./liliAssist with processing of specimens when needed./liliMaintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment/li/ulh3Requirements:/h3ulliBachelors degree in Biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA State) requirements./liliMust have at least 2 years of documented experience in reading bacteriology plates/media in Microbiology./liliASCP or AMT certification is preferred./liliAbility to work independently and within a team environment./liliProficient with computers; Familiarity with laboratory information systems is a plus./liliHigh level of attention detail along with strong communication and organizational skills./li/ulh3Why Should You Apply?/h3ulliHealth Benefits/liliReferral Program/liliExcellent growth and advancement opportunities/li/ul/div
