Job Description

This position is for a licensed, experienced Electrician who supports residential and light commercial standby generator installations. You focus on the electrical scope of generator projects, oversee installation assignments, review completed work for quality and compliance, and handle related administrative tasks from the office. You work closely with installation crews, stepping in for complex electrical work while the crews complete most of the physical installation.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical work related to standby generator installations for residential and light commercial customers.
• Swap and reconfigure circuits in disconnects to support generator installations.
• Complete electrical tie-ins and final connections for generator systems.
• Ensure all electrical work meets applicable electrical codes and safety standards.
• Assign generator installation jobs to field crews and coordinate scheduling.
• Review completed jobs, including examining job photos and documentation for accuracy, quality, and code compliance.
• Order and manage materials required for generator installations and ensure crews have what they need.
• Provide technical guidance and support to installation crews on electrical issues as needed.
• Handle administrative duties related to job review, scheduling, and project documentation from the office.
• Serve as the primary licensed electrician on staff for required electrical tasks, performing hands-on electrical work for a portion of your time.
• Collaborate with office and field personnel to ensure projects are completed efficiently and safely.
• Maintain organized records of jobs, materials, and compliance checks.

Essential Skills

• Active electrician license appropriate for performing residential and light commercial electrical work.
• Experience with electrical work on standby generators, including wiring, tie-ins, and final connections.
• Strong knowledge of electrical disconnects, circuits, and transfer switches.
• Ability to review electrical work for quality, accuracy, and code compliance using job photos and documentation.
• Organized and detail-oriented approach to managing multiple jobs, materials, and schedules.
• Comfort with administrative responsibilities, including job review, scheduling, and documentation.
• Ability to provide on-site and remote technical guidance to installation crews.
• Experience running conduit, PVC, rigid, and pipe for electrical installations.
• Ability to pull wire and work with cable tray systems.
• Ability to read and work from blueprints and electrical drawings.
• Capability to perform field work and office-based review work as part of the same role.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience specifically with generator installations and wiring is highly beneficial.
• Familiarity with Generac or similar standby generator systems is a plus.
• Ability to manage materials ordering and inventory for multiple concurrent projects.
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with field crews and office staff.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently when performing job reviews and scheduling.
• Ownership of basic electrical tools and a voltmeter suitable for residential and light commercial work.

Work Environment

You work in a mixed field and office environment. In the field, you install and support standby generators at residential homes and light commercial sites, working with electrical disconnects, circuits, transfer switches, conduit, PVC, rigid pipe, wiring, cable trays, and related electrical equipment. In the office, you review electrical photos and documentation, handle scheduling, and manage materials and job records. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Each workday, you drive to the Mount Pleasant location, pick up a company truck, travel to job sites, and return the truck at the end of the day. You use your own basic electrical tools and voltmeter while on site. The role combines hands-on electrical work with desk-based review tasks in a structured, daytime schedule.

This is a Permanent position based out of Mount Pleasant, SC.

The pay range for this position is $66560.00 - $72800.00/yr.
