Account Supervisor

About the Role

Our healthcare marketing client is seeking an Account Supervisor to join their account team and serve as a key point of contact for assigned clients and brands. This role is responsible for managing day-to-day client relationships, leading projects and initiatives, supporting brand strategy, overseeing Veeva submissions, and partnering cross-functionally to deliver high-quality work on time and within budget.

The Account Supervisor will manage relationships across 12 manufacturer accounts representing approximately $1M$1.5M in revenue and will have the opportunity to mentor junior account team members and contribute to new business efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Client & Account Management

• Manage day-to-day client relationships across assigned brands and accounts.
• Build trusted, independent relationships with clients and proactively identify opportunities, challenges, and potential risks.
• Lead client meetings, prepare meeting notes and contact reports, and maintain accurate client status reports.
• Provide proactive, tactical solutions to address brand and client needs.
• Contribute to brand planning and identify opportunities for organic account growth.
• Partner with Account Leadership and Strategy to support account growth and long-term client relationships.

Project & Team Leadership

• Lead strategic and complex projects and initiatives from kickoff through completion.
• Develop project briefs and oversee project timelines, deliverables, and client feedback.
• Lead internal kickoff meetings and provide oversight to projects managed by junior account team members.
• Delegate appropriate projects and responsibilities to junior team members while providing mentorship and support.
• Partner with Strategy and other cross-functional teams to address project needs and challenges.
• Demonstrate strong clinical knowledge and understanding of assigned brands and therapeutic areas.
• Support new business opportunities and serve as a pitch captain when needed.

Veeva & MLR Management

• Manage timely submission of materials to Veeva in accordance with submission calendars.
• Create required Veeva job codes and complete submissions.
• Oversee Veeva submissions managed by direct reports, when applicable.
• Participate in Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review meetings.
• Download and organize MLR feedback in iMeet.
• Ensure MLR comments are accurately marked up and incorporated into materials.

Financial Management

• Provide budget estimates for new projects.
• Monitor project budgets and proactively identify potential scope creep.
• Prepare invoicing details and draft Statements of Work (SOWs) for manager review.
• Provide account input to support revenue forecasting and projections.

Leadership & Development

• Mentor and oversee up to one direct report.
• Ensure timely completion of required timekeeping and administrative responsibilities.
• Support the development of junior account team members through guidance, delegation, and day-to-day mentorship.

What Were Looking For

• Experience in an account management role within a healthcare communications, pharmaceutical, or medical advertising agency.
• Strong understanding of pharmaceutical/healthcare clients, brands, and agency processes.
• Experience managing client relationships and multiple projects simultaneously.
• Familiarity with Veeva and Medical, Legal, and Regulatory (MLR) review processes.
• Strong project management, communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to proactively identify client needs, solve problems, and manage competing priorities.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with Creative, Strategy, Project Management, and other cross-functional teams.
• Previous experience mentoring or overseeing junior team members is preferred.
• Strong clinical and therapeutic-area knowledge is a plus.
• Experience with new business pitches and account growth is a plus.
