Our culture is built on collaboration, continuous improvement, and delivering real results—for our customers and our people.Our Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing manufacturing equipment to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. This role requires expertise in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process control systems, while supporting preventive maintenance programs and continuous improvement initiatives. This is a day shift position with a Monday – Friday schedule typically from 7:00am to 3:00pm (on call rotation every other weekend).What You'll Do:Perform preventive maintenance and inspections on manufacturing equipmentTroubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and process control systemsRead and interpret electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematicsRepair and replace defective components to minimize downtimeAssist with installation and commissioning of new equipmentDocument maintenance activities, work orders, and equipment failures using a CMMSUtilize electrical testing and measurement instruments for diagnosticsPossess the knowledge and understanding of industrial wiring and 3 phase/480 VoltsKnowledge in A/C and D/C motors and controlsMaintain facility support systems, including chillers, compressed air systems, and resin delivery equipmentFabricate parts and perform equipment modifications as neededOperate machine shop equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, and welding equipmentParticipate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and efficiencyProficient in operating machine shop equipment: Milling machines, Lathes, Welding, Surface Grinders, Drill press, Band SawWhat You Bring:High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferredMinimum 5 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or industrial environmentStrong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systemsExperience with industrial electrical systems, including 3-phase/480V powerUnderstanding PLCs, motors, controls, and process control systemsAbility to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and schematicsArc and/or MIG welding experience requiredExperience troubleshooting manufacturing equipment; specifically, extrusion equipmentProficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS)Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skillsAbility to work independently and effectively under pressurePhysical Requirements:Lift and carry up to 50 pounds.Stand for extended periods and perform bending, climbing, and lifting activitiesWork at heights up to 20 feet using liftsWork in a manufacturing environment, including exposure to hot equipmentMandatory "on call" rotation every other weekendCompensation Information:The hourly range for a Maintenance Technician is $32.00 to $36.00. The pay rate for a successful candidate will depend on the geographic location, this pay range is for a successful candidate in the Chicagoland area.
