Sales Account Manager

About the Role

Evocative/VPLS is seeking an experienced Account Manager to join our growing sales team. This individual will manage an assigned portfolio of existing customer accounts, growing them through upsell and cross-sell, while developing new business for our Managed Services offering. The ideal candidate is a self-driven professional who builds lasting customer relationships and can prospect new business opportunities on their own through outbound outreach, personal networking, and referrals. Success in this role comes from building your own pipeline, with sales development and marketing programs providing additional support.

Responsibilities

• Self-source new business opportunities through outbound calls, email, social outreach, professional networking, industry events, and referrals
• Identify and pursue prospective new customers within the assigned territory, building relationships with business and IT decision-makers
• Follow up promptly on supplemental leads from the Sales Development Representative and Marketing team
• Manage an assigned portfolio of existing customer accounts, serving as the primary relationship owner and conducting regular business reviews
• Upsell and cross-sell additional services within assigned accounts, and support the Renewals team throughout the renewal process
• Perform discovery of each customer's needs and challenges, and collaborate with Solutions Engineers to evaluate potential solutions
• Prepare and present proposals showing the value of our services, building credibility as a trusted advisor through strong knowledge of our offerings
• Close business and ensure a complete, accurate handoff to onboarding and service delivery
• Maintain an accurate and updated sales funnel and forecast in the CRM
• Achieve monthly and quarterly revenue targets, including self-sourced new customer bookings

Requirements

• 3 to 5+ years of technology sales experience, preferably in managed services, with a record of meeting or exceeding quota
• Demonstrated success acquiring new customers through self-directed prospecting
• Ability to learn our services quickly and discuss business technology needs with both technical and executive-level buyers, with support from Solutions Engineers
• Great presentation skills and an articulate communicator
• Self-motivated, organized, and professional, with disciplined CRM and forecasting habits
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline preferred, or equivalent work experience

Reporting, Territory, and Travel

This role will report to the Director of Growth and Engagement. Customers and services are based primarily in Hawaii and on the West Coast. Regular travel to customer sites and events is required, as well as travel to other company offices and territories as needed.
