Our Ideal Candidate:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5 years of demonstrated experience in foundation relations, fundraising, or relationship management
- Experience managing funder portfolios and advancing relationships through all stages of the giving/grant cycle
- Strong verbal/written communication skills, including proposal and report writing
- Strategic thinking and ability to align fundraising with organizational priorities
- Strong project management and organizational skills
- Ability to synthesize complex programmatic and financial information into compelling narratives
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams and manage multiple deadlines
- Ideal candidates will be requested to submit writing samples related to job expectations.
- Manage and grow a portfolio of 60-80 institutional funders, advancing relationships through prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship
- Build relationships with prospects and existing funders to increase grant/gift size over time
- Develop and implement strategic fundraising plans aligned with organizational priorities
- Lead or coordinate the development of grant proposals, reports, budgets, and supporting materials
- Collaborate with program, finance, communications, and development teams to gather data and align funding opportunities
- Maintain strong funder relationships through ongoing communication and stewardship activities
- Track portfolio performance, manage deadlines, and ensure compliance with all funder requirements
- Maintain accurate records in fundraising systems and support portfolio analysis and reporting
- Strategic Decision Maker: You are an effective decision-maker who can assess information and determine appropriate next steps in both immediate and long-term situations. You translate strategy into action and ensure goals are met and results are achieved.
- Effective Communicator and Culture Steward: You use strong verbal and written communication skills to build relationships, understand stakeholder needs, and navigate complex situations. You are comfortable with accountability and foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Collaborative Relationship Builder: You build authentic, trust-based relationships with internal stakeholders and external funders. You partner effectively across departments to advance shared fundraising goals.
- Detail-Oriented Project Manager: You manage deadlines, funder requirements, and deliverables with precision, ensuring engagement and accuracy across all submissions.
