API Developer Apigee Hybrid Migration

We are looking for a hands-on API Developer to support a large-scale API modernization and migration initiative. The selected candidate will work on migrating and modernizing legacy APIs from Axway and Apigee Edge/Private Cloud to Apigee Hybrid .

This is a highly hands-on development role. The candidate will work under the direction of internal architects while independently handling API development, integration rebuilding, migration activities, CI/CD, automation, testing, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

Develop, configure, test, deploy, and troubleshoot APIs using Apigee.
Support migration of legacy APIs from Axway and Apigee Edge/Private Cloud to Apigee Hybrid .
Develop and maintain API proxies, policies, flows, integrations, and configurations.
Rebuild and enhance backend integrations as part of API modernization.
Implement API security, authentication, authorization, OAuth, and related policies.
Develop automation scripts for API configuration, deployment, testing, and environment promotion.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated API deployments.
Troubleshoot API, integration, deployment, and performance issues.
Perform functional and integration testing of migrated APIs.
Manage API configurations, dependencies, versions, and deployment processes.
Collaborate with architects, developers, DevOps engineers, and business stakeholders.
Document technical solutions, migration activities, configurations, and deployment procedures.
Work independently and take ownership of assigned development and migration tasks.

Required Skills

5+ years of API development / API management experience.
Strong hands-on Apigee experience.
Experience with Apigee Edge, Apigee Private Cloud, or Apigee Hybrid .
Experience with Axway API Gateway / Axway Policy Studio is highly preferred.
Experience with API migration, modernization, or integration projects.
Strong REST/SOAP API development and integration experience.
Experience with JSON, XML, API security, OAuth, and authentication.
Strong experience with CI/CD and DevOps .
Experience with Jenkins, GitLab, GitHub, Azure DevOps, Cloud Build, or similar tools.
Strong scripting/automation experience using Python, Bash, JavaScript, or similar languages .
Experience with Git/source control.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a hands-on development environment.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills

Apigee Hybrid migration experience.
Axway-to-Apigee migration experience.
Apigee Edge/Private Cloud-to-Hybrid migration experience.
API proxy and policy development.
Deployment automation and environment promotion.
Terraform or Infrastructure-as-Code experience.
GCP/cloud experience.
Enterprise API modernization experience.
