About the role:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy . This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring employees to be in our local office Marlborough, MA at least three/four days per week.

As a Quality Engineering Co-op at Boston Scientific, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in Design Quality Assurance (DQA), working alongside cross-functional teams to support the development and maintenance of innovative medical devices. You will apply quality engineering principles to help ensure our products meet Boston Scientific, customer and regulatory requirements while contributing to our mission of advancing science for life and improving patient outcomes.

In this role, you will support the development, establishment and maintenance of quality engineering methodologies, systems and practices that meet Boston Scientific, customer and regulatory requirements. You will work as a Quality representative to improve awareness, visibility and communication of quality initiatives while supporting departmental, functional, site, divisional and corporate quality goals and priorities.

Your responsibilities will include:

● Support Design Quality Assurance activities throughout the product life cycle, partnering with cross-functional teams to help ensure products meet applicable quality and regulatory requirements.

● Support the implementation of quality assurances, design controls, process controls and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) systems designed to meet or exceed internal and external requirements.

● Serve as an effective team member in supporting quality disciplines, decisions and practices.

● Apply systematic problem-solving methodologies to identify, prioritize, communicate and resolve quality issues.

● Support the development and execution of streamlined quality systems that effectively identify and resolve quality issues.

● Support design changes for commercialized products and document associated design verification activities.

● Evaluate and analyze post-market complaint data to identify and escalate potential product performance signals.

● Support complaint investigations and identify corrective and preventive activities that contribute to continuous improvement.

● Update and maintain risk management files and associated quality documentation.

● Collaborate with engineering and other cross-functional partners to support design quality activities and ensure appropriate documentation of quality decisions.

Required qualifications:

● Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in biomedical engineering with an expected graduation date by May 2027.

● Previous Boston Scientific co-op experience within the Quality department.

● Knowledge of data analysis and interpretation tools.

● Available to participate for the full duration of the co-op program from Jan. 11 through Aug. 6 or Aug. 13 2027. 

● Eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization.

● Reliable transportation to and from 300 Boston Scientific Way, Marlborough, MA 01752. Boston Scientific does not provide transportation or transportation support to and from its locations.

Preferred qualifications:

● Desire to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment supporting quality engineering methodologies, systems and practices that meet Boston Scientific, customer and regulatory requirements.

● Interest in pursuing a career in the medical device industry after graduation, particularly within Quality or Design Quality Assurance.

● Demonstrated leadership experience.

● Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

● Strong attention to detail with an interest in design controls, risk management, product quality and conti nuous improvement.

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

Compensation for non-exempt (hourly), non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).
